The laser beam precisely heats the glass followed by a cold jet of air or an air / liquid mixture. This thermally induced tension causes a precise fissuring of the glass. This results in a maximum quality cut in terms of edge quality and strength. The laser scribing method differs from the  scribing method using wheels due to obsolete further processing steps like grinding or washing.

  • Very thin glass (e.g. 100µm) with high yield
  • Closed inside contours possible
  • Precise and highly accurate cut edge with highest edge strength
  • Optical glass edge quality
  • No micro cracks, fragmentation or chipping

  • No particles, thus laser cut glass is adequate for cleanroom applications
